Dallas County Jail

I just want some general information on Kays Tower. Since he got moved over there I havent heard from him. Does anyone know what this area is?

Yes my boyfiend had got moved to the kays tower and its the new part of the jail its suppose to be better. they have t.vs and ice machines ect over there but when my boyfirend got moved to kays tower it took a long time for our mail to get back and fourth when any other time it would be 2 to 3 days!!!

Its the new low security jail, its an open floorplan type with all the beds out in the open, no cells. They have 50" plasma tvs, and computer labs. If there is a problem the guard has a safe room that he/she gets to lock themselves into until help comes. All the county employee raises for the next 5 years(or more) went into paying for that stupid tower and if you go into our break room we have ONE 17" tube tv and ice machines that are always broken or out of ice. The county thought that they would be able to pass inspections with the new tower but they can't even get the fire/smoke system working right. I really really wish finding a new job wasn't so hard right now or I would be long gone. Especially since they almost force you to work overtime and instead of paying us for it they give us comp time, but then they don't want to approve any time off because they don't have anyone to cover our shifts.

Oh and if you think that the employees are not nice, you try having to deal with the crazy drugged up people for little or no pay! There are people who come in that are so high they just scream at the top of their lungs for HOURS and then demand water(which has to be given) so that they can scream some more. And then of course there is the inmates that literally throw their crap at the jailers because they have nothing else to throw. Not that there aren't some rotten jailers, but most of them are just nice people trying to make a living the same as everyone else. And alot of the inmates are not that bad either, most just sitting out tickets and minor stuff, and the trustees are usually polite when they come through our office.
